AC SPORTSMAN OUTDOOR PARK - An outdoor park in the valley area that is family friendly and offers activities including trail riding, archery, shooting, camping an much more. Located on US Highway 431 South, just outside Phenix City, Alabama. For more information call: 344-480-997
CALLAWAY GARDENS - A, 2,500 acre woodland garden and resort featuring golf, tennis, fly-fishing, trails, and more. It also is home to the Cecil B. Day Butterfly Center, the Sibley Horticultural Center and Mr. Cason's Vegetable Garden. It is located in Pine Mountain, Georgia, about 40 minutes from Phenix City.
FDR STATE PARK - At the top of Pine Mountain in Pine Mountain, Georgia. On of FDR's favorite picnic spots and truly a beautiful place to visit at any time during the year.

COLUMBUS COTTONMOUTHS - A class A ice hockey team. Home games are played in the Columbus Civic Center.

COLUMBUS MUSEUM OF ART - A growing collection of fine art with a special exploration center for children and an outstanding display depicting the development and history of our area.
NATIONAL CIVIL WAR NAVAL MUSEUM AT PORT COLUMBUS - One of the world's largest collections of Confederate Naval artifacts.
NATIONAL INFANTRY MUSEUM - Located at Fort Benning, it is one of the south's best military museums. It contains a wide variety of artifacts of America's foot soldiers and the struggles they have faced and overcome.
EAST ALABAMA MOTOR SPEEDWAY - A 3/8 mile, 60 foot wide dirt track. The season begins with monster trucks, stock car racing, and demolition derby.
FORT MITCHELL - Located in Fort Mitchell, Alabama at 561 Hwy. 165. Hours: Monday - Saturday 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Sunday 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. Visitors Center at entrance to Fort Mitchell. Fort Mitchell was established in 1813 and is one of the oldest forts in the region. It is known as "The Gateway to the West."
WESTVILLE - Located in Lumpkin, Georgia, Westville is a living history village which shows the daily life and activities of the 1820's. The village was created by moving and restoring period homes found in the nearby counties. It is about 1 hour from Phenix City.
PROVIDENCE CANYON - Known by many in our area as the "Little Grand Canyon" it is one of the most beautiful canyons in the Southeast. It is the perfect spot for hiking and picnicking. It is located about 5 miles from Lumpkin, Georgia and about 1 hour from Phenix City.
THE LITTLE WHITE HOUSE - FDR's favorite retreat. It includes a large collection of artifacts from Franklin and Eleanor's years in the White House and a chronicle of their love for the Warm Springs area. It is located in Warm Springs, GA about 40 minutes from Phenix City.

THE PHENIX CITY AMPHITHEATER - Located next to the picturesque Chattahoochee River, the amphitheater provides outdoor concerts and entertainment for all ages.
Area Happenings
APRIL
- Annual Exchange Club of Phenix City "Sporting Clay Shoot". Held each April at Argorosa Plantation. This is a four man team event. All proceeds to benefit the D.A.R.E. Program and other Exchange Club projects. For information call (334) 297-5597.
JUNE
- Twin Cities Classic Horse Show features approximately 260 entries of Western, Walking, Quarter, and other horse breeds.
JULY
- "Thunder on the Hooch" This Fourth of July Extravaganza is an exciting event for the whole family that takes place in Columbus, GA and Phenix City, AL along the river. The event includes music, family games, carnival, food, arts & crafts, and an enormous display of fireworks. Sponsored by WTVM Channel 9.
SEPTEMBER

- Our Festival of ART is an opportunity for local artists to display their pieces in an original log cabin.

- "Festival of Lights" Christmas Celebration with many animated displays and decorations along Broad Street and around Moon Lake at Idle Hour Park.
